  LG Poll: NNPP begins Sales of Forms in Ondo The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Ondo State chapter, at the weekend, disclosed that it has officially commenced the sales of forms ahead of the forthcoming local government elections scheduled for January 18, 2025.  Disclosing this in a statement, the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Oluwafemi Olaleye, stated that the sales of the Expression of Interest and Nomination forms will begin on September 30, 2024, and will continue until October 18, 2024.  While urging interested aspirants to take advantage of the window to secure their candidacy for various local government positions across the state, Olaleye stated that the party is offering a significant discount for the nomination form, reducing the cost by 50% for specific demographics. Michael Anugwa, Deputy Controller of Corrections (DCC), In-Charge of Medium Security Custodial Centre (MSCC), Kiri-kiri, Lagos State; and ii.   ODSG Disburses N220m Soft Loan to Artisans' Groups and MSMEs In a bid to boost small-scale businesses and improve the economy, the Ondo State Government on Tuesday, 24 September 2024, commenced the disbursement of N220 million to artisans and small business owners across the state. The Deputy Governor, Dr. Olayide Adelami, who represented the governor, presented cheques to the beneficiaries during the ceremony held at The Dome. This loan scheme is part of the strategies implemented by the Aiyedatiwa administration to tackle poverty, reduce unemployment, and combat youth restiveness. The event was attended by the Chief of Staff to the governor, Prince Segun Omojuwa, Chairman of the State Micro Credit Agency, Adenike Ademujimi; the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, Industries, and Cooperative Services, Toyin Oni; and the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Artisan Matters, Daisi Komolafe.

  Ondo to postpone local Election AD State Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC) had fixed February 17, as the date to conduct the polls. Sources said the local elections might be postponed due to the death of former Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu. The source said burial activities of Akeredolu would commence on February 15, and end on February 23, when the former governor would be buried. Besides the burial of Akeredolu, another source said incumbent Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa might also push for the postponement to enable his loyalists to emerge as candidates. Primaries of the APC for the local government elections were conducted before the death of Akeredolu.
