AKETI WAS RIGHT ABOUT AIYEDATIWA.

...he saw and foretold nothing, but positive virtues  ~ Rt. Hon. Victor Olabimtan

The chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, Ondo State, Rt. Hon. Victor Olabimtan has showered encomium on the Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for his huge investment in education.

Olabimtan, in the statement he personally signed, stated that Ondo State is progressing with feasible impact because of the policy direction of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa that place the wellbeing of the people on the front burner.

In line with his policy thrust to improve the standard of education and learning process in Ondo State, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has approved the payment of Ondo State’s counterpart fund for UBEC year 2024.

This significant move, according to the SUBEB boss, is the needed prerequisite to kick-start the implementation of UBEC’s projects in Ondo State for the year 2024.

Olabimtan’s statement reads in part. “Within Aiyedatiwa’s short stint, Ondo State has paid counterpart funding for both 2023 and 2024 to UBEC. As a result of the prompt payment of 2023 counterpart fund by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa Ondo State SUBEB has been able to construct 18 new blocks of classrooms, renovated 22 blocks of classrooms, re-roofed 20 buildings affected by rainstorms, constructed 10 motorised boreholes with modern toilets, and supplied furniture for 3,360 Pupils.

"This also includes provision of  furniture for 585 teachers and 72 Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCDE) furniture within a spate of few months."

"The icing on the cake is the approval given for the recruitment of 1,000 teachers to boost impactful education at the primary school level.”

“The 2024 proposal for which Governor Aiyedatiwa has also paid the counterpart fund will see SUBEB constructing 35 blocks of new classrooms, renovating 55 blocks of classrooms in various locations, re-roofing 15 buildings affected by rainstorms, constructing 18 boreholes, constructing 7 modern toilets, and supplying 6,500 Pupils’ furniture, 1,000 teachers' furniture and 150 Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCDE) furniture for UBEC year 2024.”

“Aketi must have seen what majority of people couldn’t see in the incumbent when he anointed him as his successor during his inauguration for second term in office. It’s amazing and impressively surprising that Governor Aiyedatiwa is selectively focusing on the core policies and projects that will guarantee enduring legacy.”

“Ondo State is one of the best performing States in terms of prompt payment of counterpart funding to execute UBEC sponsored projects. Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has been consistent in his quest to ensure that Ondo State pupils have access to effective and qualitative education. Ondo State is, indeed, lucky!”

CRITICIZE BUT DON'T ENGAGE IN TEARING DOWN .

Hon. Olanrewaju Stephen Afolabi, Councilor representing the wonderful people of APOI Ward IV urged people Of Ese-Odo Local Government not to engage in tearing down. The recent criticism within Ese-Odo Local Government has sparked immense conversations about the manner in which we represent ourselves and others in the media.  While some may see criticism as negativism, it should, however, be viewed as a tool for improvement. I will only urge those who engage in criticism to strive to be constructive in their approach, offering specific and actionable feedback rather than simply tearing down.  This is important because the way we represent ourselves and others in the media has a significant impact on how we are perceived and treated in the future.  To me, it is inevitable that criticism and evaluation will come your way.  In fact, it is essential for providing quality representation to the people. How on earth could one possibly think that they can give people th...

Ilaje/Ese Odo Must Rise: Time for a New Kind of Leadership

For over 20 years, Ilaje/Ese Odo Federal Constituency has followed the same political pattern—electing male representatives again and again. While the past has played its role, one question remains unavoidable: Has this approach delivered the level of development we truly deserve? If we are honest, we know the answer. Because progress is not built on repetition—it is built on bold decisions and new direction. And as it is often said, we cannot keep doing the same thing and expect different results. This is why the call for gender-inclusive leadership is not just timely—it is necessary. Around the world, communities that embrace women in leadership experience more balanced development, stronger grassroots connection, and better focus on real human needs like education, healthcare, and youth empowerment. Ilaje/Ese Odo cannot afford to leave half of its potential untapped. Now is the time to think differently. Now is the time to act differently. At the center of this new movement is...
