Ilaje/Ese Odo Must Rise: Time for a New Kind of Leadership

For over 20 years, Ilaje/Ese Odo Federal Constituency has followed the same political pattern—electing male representatives again and again. While the past has played its role, one question remains unavoidable:

Has this approach delivered the level of development we truly deserve?

If we are honest, we know the answer.

Because progress is not built on repetition—it is built on bold decisions and new direction. And as it is often said, we cannot keep doing the same thing and expect different results.

This is why the call for gender-inclusive leadership is not just timely—it is necessary. Around the world, communities that embrace women in leadership experience more balanced development, stronger grassroots connection, and better focus on real human needs like education, healthcare, and youth empowerment.

Ilaje/Ese Odo cannot afford to leave half of its potential untapped.

Now is the time to think differently.

Now is the time to act differently.

At the center of this new movement is Chief Olamide Julianna Falana (Ojay)—a bold, capable, and people-driven leader who represents the change our constituency needs.

She brings fresh energy, clear vision, and the determination to attract meaningful development to our land. More importantly, she represents a shift—from routine politics to purposeful leadership.

*This is not just about electing a woman.*

*This is about electing the right leader at the right time.*

*Ilaje/Ese Odo stands at a crossroads. One path continues the same cycle. The other leads to transformation.*

We cannot keep doing the same thing and expect different results.

It is time to think differently.

It is time to act boldly.

It is time to embrace a new kind of leadership.

 *Let Ilaje/Ese Odo make history.*

*Let Ilaje/Ese Odo choose progress.*

*Let Ilaje/Ese Odo send Ojay.*

CRITICIZE BUT DON'T ENGAGE IN TEARING DOWN .

Hon. Olanrewaju Stephen Afolabi, Councilor representing the wonderful people of APOI Ward IV urged people Of Ese-Odo Local Government not to engage in tearing down. The recent criticism within Ese-Odo Local Government has sparked immense conversations about the manner in which we represent ourselves and others in the media.  While some may see criticism as negativism, it should, however, be viewed as a tool for improvement. I will only urge those who engage in criticism to strive to be constructive in their approach, offering specific and actionable feedback rather than simply tearing down.  This is important because the way we represent ourselves and others in the media has a significant impact on how we are perceived and treated in the future.  To me, it is inevitable that criticism and evaluation will come your way.  In fact, it is essential for providing quality representation to the people. How on earth could one possibly think that they can give people th...

WE CAN'T CHANGE THE TRUTH

Hon. Olanrewaju Stephen AFOLOBI, urged Colleagues to be more Committed in their duties as Honourable members.    Just a reminder !!! As much as we may try to deny it, the truth remains unchangeable. And perhaps, when our time in office comes to an end, we will have to face the harsh reality that we have failed in our duty to not only represent ourselves, but more importantly, to represent the people as elected members of the council.  This realization may come with a heavy weight of regret and disappointment, but it is a lesson we must learn and carry with us. As we fulfill our duties, let us remember that our core purpose is to serve the people and to always strive for their best interests.  Only then can we truly fulfill our roles as representatives in the council. As representatives at the Council, it is our duty to speak the truth, even if it may be bitter. We must remember that our tenure is temporary and will eventually come to an end. In that moment, the...
